The Ontario Land Surveyor provides essential services in the building construction process. We accurately define the building location relative to property limits. We confirm with local municipalities by-law conformances, provide horizontal and vertical references for construction purposes, and issue various certificates required when required.

Our construction layout provides a wide range of services to the engineering and construction industries. All layout and data collection is carried out with state-of-the-art equipment, supported by software, tailored to maintain productive central control. Construction layout tasks are supported with hard copy plots as well as digital information upon request.

• Building Layout
• complexity of the building structure, a combination of one or more of the following services can and are provided:
  1. stakeout for excavation, placement of caissons, pilings, or footings
  2. perimeter column grid layouts
  3. precision alignment of pads for heavy machinery
  4. control of vertical datum for structure and grading.
• Grade Certification. Establish vertical benchmarks to allow certification of grades and as-built elevations of the buildings as required for two stage building permits or associated municipal requirements
• Monitoring Structures. For deep excavations and construction near existing structures, a variety of horizontal and vertical monitoring services can verify the correct alignment of the structures, or deformation of adjacent structures
• Building Location Survey (Surveyor’s Real Property Report). The final as-built location of the building is determined relative to the property limits to ensure conformance with municipal by-laws, and for purposes of completing financial arrangements
